π Managing Multi-language Content
LoftOS platforms can run in several languages at the same time. Which languages are active is configured under Admin β Platform Settings β Platform Languages. This page explains how content behaves across languages β and why an edit sometimes only appears in one of them.

How language versions work
Each active language holds its own copy of the editable content β page texts, module names, attribute labels, event descriptions and so on.
- Content edits are not translated or propagated automatically. Saving a text in German does not change the English version of the same text.
- Every language version must be updated manually and separately. Switch the platform to the target language, then repeat the edit.
- Automated translation only applies to the initial draft (e.g. when a page is first created). Any later modification must be translated by hand.
- Always check which language you are editing in before you save. The editor writes into the language that is currently active in the interface.
π‘ Before publishing a change, switch through every active language and confirm the content reads correctly in each one.
π οΈ Troubleshooting
A text update only appears in one language
This is expected behaviour, not a bug.
- Switch the platform to the language where the text is still outdated.
- Repeat the edit there and save.
- If a change appeared in an unexpected language, check which language the editor was set to when the change was saved β the edit landed in that language version.
β FAQs
-
Does LoftOS translate my content automatically?
Only the initial draft of some content types (e.g. Pages) can be machine-translated. All later edits must be made per language.
-
How many languages can we activate?
This depends on your package. On the free plan you can select one language alongside English; multiple languages are a premium feature.
-
Why does the quality of a translation vary between languages?
Machine translation quality differs per language pair. Always review machine-translated content before publishing.
