π Domain & SSL Setup
Every LoftOS platform is reachable under a LoftOS subdomain (e.g. https://yourorganisation.loftos.com) out of the box. Most customers additionally connect their own custom domain (e.g. platform.yourdomain.com). This page explains how the domain and the SSL/TLS certificate are set up, who is responsible for which step, and what to check when a newly connected domain does not work.
π©π»βπ» Usage
Where to find and change your platform URL
Your platform URL is managed under Admin β Platform Settings β Name & URL. Here you can see the current domain and configure redirects from old URLs to new ones.
Connecting a custom domain
Setting up a custom domain is a shared task between your IT and Innoloft:
- Your IT sets a DNS A-record for the domain, pointing to the platform's server IP:
3.125.75.36. - Register both the root domain and the
wwwsubdomain. If only one of the two is configured, visitors using the other spelling will land on an error page. - Innoloft applies the domain in the platform admin so it resolves to your instance.
- DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours, depending on your DNS provider. Do not treat the domain as broken before that window has passed.
π‘ Announce the switch internally before it happens β bookmarks, e-mail signatures and iFrame embeds that use the old domain need to be updated.
SSL / TLS certificates
You do not need to buy or renew your own SSL certificate. Innoloft automatically generates and renews SSL/TLS certificates via Let's Encrypt whenever a new custom domain is configured.
π οΈ Troubleshooting
The domain does not work after setup
- Check the A-record actually points to
3.125.75.36and has propagated (use any public DNS lookup tool). - Check both spellings β root domain and
wwwsubdomain must be registered. - Check the SSL certificate has been activated on your hosting/DNS provider side; some providers require the certificate or a proxy setting to be explicitly enabled.
- Wait out DNS propagation β up to 48 hours.
- If all of the above are correct, report it via the Resource Center with the exact domain and a screenshot of the error.
Internal links break after a domain change
After moving to a new domain, verify that pages, iFrame embeds and links in mailings still resolve. Use the Redirects function under Admin β Platform Settings β Name & URL to forward old URLs.
β FAQs
-
Do we need to buy or renew our own SSL certificate?
No. Innoloft automatically generates and renews SSL/TLS certificates via Let's Encrypt. Your IT only needs to set the A-record for the domain.
-
Can we change the platform URL later?
Yes, under Admin β Platform Settings β Name & URL. Set up redirects for the old URL and check all embedded content afterwards.
-
Why does the domain work but the
wwwversion does not? Both the root domain and the
wwwsubdomain must be registered with your DNS provider. Add the missing record and allow time for propagation. -
Can system e-mails (e.g. event invitations) be sent from our own e-mail domain?
Using your own e-mail domain for system e-mails is only available for Enterprise packages. Contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Account Executive (AE) if you would like to receive an offer.
